Sometimes called Red Ash. Fast growth 50 to 60 feet. Spread 45 to 50 feet. In spring the male and female both yield small flowers. Following the flowers the female trees develop winged fruits. The medium to dark green leaves turn yellow in fall. Needs full sunlight to grow. Grows best in deep, moist, rich, well drained soil. Will grow in sandy or clay soil. Once established will thrive in dry, sterile soil. Transplants readily and because of its adaptability, may be used for along streets, lawns, commercial areas, parks and golf courses.
